Aleuritic Acid We are engage in offering a quality range of Aleuritic Acid (9, 10, 16-trihydroxypalmitic acid) that is used in perfume industry for the preparation of musk aroma. It is a unique acid containing three hydroxyl groups of which two are of adjacent carbon atoms; this is obtained from shellac by saponification. These are moderately soluble in hot water & crystallize out on cooling the solution and are soluble in the lower alcohols such as methyl, ethyl and isopropyl alcohols.
